What does ‘work from home’ mean to you
‘Work from home’ is the buzz word in the market place today. It means different things to different people. Let us see what it broadly covers.
- A person is on a regular day job. He/she has to drive a long way to office and would like to cut down on travel time to work and instead be more productive from the comfort of his/her home. This is also called Tele Commuting. You still work for your boss, but from the comfort of your home sometimes.
- People running a business for a physical product also sometimes work from home by setting up a home office or stocking supplies at home.
- Some entrepreneurs like craftsmen, painters, bands choose to work out of their homes.
- One of the most popular work from home option is running an online business. People use their computers to run and maintain a business on the internet. Their primary source of income is by selling physical or digital products online. They do not have a boss to report to.
There are many more to mention if I could. Basically I am more interested in the last one. Running an online business on the internet. It lets me earn a decent income without me having to go out and sell. I can stay at and work from home, spend time with family. The time I spend for myself and my family means a lot to me.
